At the April (free and open to the public) Northwest Basket Weavers Guild meeting, I will be leading a conversation about safe and respectful foraging for backyard basketry beginners. Whether you live in an urban, suburban or rural setting there are forage-able weaving materials to be found. You might have to explore with new eyes and set reminders in your calendar...but there are goodies to be had year round. We'll collaborate to create a plant list for a "weaver's garden" and start a foraged fibers calendar!

For those of you able to attend in person, I will bring samples of materials I have foraged and baskets made. I will also have 20ish copies of Grounds for Gathering for sale - my favorite book on the topic! (sorry no shipping)

Don’t be shy…this is a wonderful group of people and I have found them delightfully welcoming.

NOTE: I’ve taught a similar workshop before at $25/person so FREE is a good deal. :)

The Northwest Basket Weavers Guild meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Phinney Center and online - bringing together weavers of all kinds! Established in 1982, the guild has been instrumental to connecting 100’s of PNW residents with opportunities to teach, learn and celebrate basketry.
