FULL - Intro to Cordage with Soft Fibers

  • Field and Forest Crafts Classroom 12535 15th Avenue Northeast, Ste 120 Seattle, WA, 98125 United States (map)

This workshop is sold out.

One of the best ways to get to know the weave-ability of a plant is by trying to make cordage with it. So let’s make some cordage!

What the heck is cordage? Really it’s just rope. And in this case hand woven…even better!

Together we will explore different locally available (some seasonal) plants and let our hands tell us more about them. Don’t know how to make cordage, no problem…we’ll learn together. And you’ll get a great start on your very own cordage collection. (see picture)

What we’ll play with…

  • Daylily

  • Crososmia

  • Iris

  • Dandelion

  • Daffodil

  • Juncus

  • Cattail

  • and more…

Our time together will offer lots of show and tell of other fun ways to use more cordage in your life. Trust me you’re going to want to use it everywhere - it’s addictive, meditative, and just plan fun to make.

Minimum age: 12 with accompanying paid adult
