Now is the season of lavender! Lavender wands, or fuseaux de lavande, can be traced back to the 18th century in the Provence region of France. With the rise of the perfume trade, lavender moved from a medicinal herb to a sought after essential oil.

We’ll be creating with all natural fibers - using either naturally hand-dyed (by me!) cotton* ribbon or, if you are feeling adventurous, dandelion stems to delicately weave around the fragrant flowers. Once the blooms are enclosed they are safe to toss in a linen drawer or add fragrance to any space. The scent can lasts for years and easily refreshed with a drop of essential oil.

*Originally made with satin made of silk, it’s become quite hard (and pricey) to find non-synthetic satin. We’ll be using hand-dyed cotton ribbon keeping plastic out of our natural craft.

Class fee includes supplies for 2 wands. Additional supplies are $8 each.

WORKSHOP IS FULL - Class space is limited to 10 students per session. Minimum age: 14.
