As a basket maker, wild crafter and willow farmer, I use a lot of tools. Sharp tools are safer tools - for me, my baskets and my willow. I hate seeing my students struggle to make a clean cut with their clippers or use a dull knife to slype a willow rod. I wanted sharp tools for myself and I wanted the same for my students, so here we are…introducing One Cut Sharpening!
I sharpen using a Tormek T8 professional grade slow speed water cooled grinding and honing machine. The Tormek T8 allows me to sharpen with precision and remove only a minute fraction of the steel at each sharpening - giving your knives and scissors the fine edge you want and a longer lifespan.
I hang out at Hellbent Brewing in Lake City every other Wednesday to sharpen. I’m set up out back by the outdoor seating. Bring whatever tools or knives you want, drop ‘em by with your phone number, grab a beer. I’ll text you when your stuff is ready. I take credit cards but cash is preferred.
