When I wear willow, it reminds me that I can be like the willow - flexible, grounded, full of vigor, and resilience. I can withstand the storm or flood and bounce back - my roots are strong and I can resist!
Willow is an incredible plant offering medicine in its bark (used by humans for more than 3500 years!), habitat for birds in its swaying branches, stability for river and stream banks with its dense roots and so much more.
Willow bark can only be harvested for a few months in the spring and early summer but if dried and storied properly can last for years. For weaving, willow bark can be used to make baskets, hats, jewelry, art, and more.
In this workshop, you will make a custom pair of earrings and bracelet-to-fit. You will choose your earring beads (color/number/orientation), woven earring length/size, and findings. Enjoy a late summer afternoon playing with willow!
Class fee includes supplies for ONE bracelet and ONE pair of earrings. Additional supplies are $15 each - limited quantity.
LOCATION: We’ll be meeting “down on the farm.” Set your GPS to the Carnation Farmstand and then look for event signs leading across the wooden bridge and down the tree-lined lane.
