Attention all adventurous weavers…
Who among you likes a little whimsy and is ready to let the willow speak to you?
Who comes back from every hike or neighborhood walk with new natural goodies in their pockets? (a seed pod…cool rock…you know!)
If this is you…come make a wild weave treasure catcher. We’ll build our foundations using the random weave technique with rehydrated willow rods. Then it’s time to play. If you want to stick with ONLY locally farmed and forage materials we’ll have vines, bark, cedar cones, cordage making supplies, dried flowers and seed pods and other fun things to play with. If you want to branch out to other materials, I have half a dozen different natural twines and some surprises to play with.
Every wild weave will be different so let your imagination go wild and tell your inner critic to be quiet!
The fun doesn’t end when you leave class…you now have a home for all your wild goodies. Decorate with flowers, seedpods, feathers, mementos - whatever makes you happy. Even change them up with the season!
I can’t wait to see what YOU create!
The class maximum is 10 students | minimum 6 students. Minimum age is 14 for this workshop.
I love the dichotomy of these student projects…one is “less is more” and the other is “more is more” and they are both perfect!
