SOLD OUT - Bulrush Shoulder Bag

  • Field and Forest Crafts 1608 Northeast 179th Street Shoreline, Washington, 98155 United States (map)

Let’s make an over-the-shoulder pouch out of wetland friends - bulrush, cattail, yellow flag iris, and willow. Bulrush will be our foundation and is an incredibly sturdy plant fiber that retains flexibility once woven. It’s my favorite for pouches and hats. All materials are locally and sustainably harvested by hand (mine).

We’ll weave around a wooden form and you can choose to make a vertical or horizontal pouch - finished size approx 5.5 inches x 7 inches x 2 inches - perfect for your cellphone, wallet, etc. We’ll add a natural fiber strap and a few decorations for fun at the end! This is a full day of hands-on instruction with a very small class size to ensure everyone is enjoying the journey and successful!

No experience needed though it will be a challenging project for a brand new weaver. Minimum age: 16

Workshop will be held over lunch - please plan to bring a sack lunch or snacks to stay onsite.

Class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if you want to sell or give your spot to a friend, I’m happy to welcome someone else in your place. Due to the nature of the projects (materials/soaking, etc) and the small class sizes, I’m unable to support refunds or credits.
