With spring bulbs on the rise, it’s not too long before our gardens come alive again. Get a little taste of summer early this year and weave a willow flower. Standing proud in your garden these 2 ft wide flower heads will draw the eye! APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY (willow) FLOWERS.
Each student will make one flower.
BONUS SKILL: The woven center of each flower is how a traditional round stake and strand willow basket is started. The center/start is called a “slath.” This workshop gives you a great taste for what weaving with willow is like.
Willow is a strong material - some hand strength will be needed but no weaving experience required.
Minimum age: 18
Class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if you want to sell or give your spot to a friend, I’m happy to welcome someone else in your place. Due to the nature of the projects (materials/soaking, etc) and the small class sizes, I’m unable to support refunds or credits.
This workshops is held at the Field and Forest Crafts Classroom at 1608 NE 179th St, Shoreline WA, 98155
