THIS IS A SPECIAL SMALL GROUP SESSION - 5 students!
Come make a large ribbed basketry with willow. Learn how to make the hoops and wreaths that serve as the foundation. Then explore how to insert and shape the ribs to give you a well balanced basket. Gain experience and confidence in weaving the strong yet flexible willow into place.
We’ll be weaving with fresh and rehydrated willow. Ribbed basketry is a great way to take advantage of the vibrant colors of fresh willow. Each student will be provided with a pre-shaped and dried rim and handle. We will also make a more modest set to take home and dry for a future project.
We will start each day at 10am and weave until 6pm. We will take a 45-60 minute lunch break. I recommend packing a lunch vs. seeking outside food…just as a time saver. There is a refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven on site.
Depending on each student’s progress, there is the option to take home material to weave between day 1 and day 2. If at the end of day two, you need a bit more time, it’s very easy to send you home with supplies.
The pricing for this workshop includes 2 full days of instruction, weaving supplies, pre-made willow forms, an additional set of hoops and access to all needed tools. Plus tea-time and biscuits. :) This is also priced at a slight higher SMALL GROUP RATE vs. a full workshop size of 8-10 students.

Class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if you want to sell or give your spot to a friend, I’m happy to welcome someone else in your place. Due to the nature of the projects and the small class sizes, I’m unable to support refunds or credits.
