One of the best ways to get to know the weave-ability of a plant is by trying to make cordage with it. So let’s make some cordage!
What the heck is cordage? Really it’s rope or twine - and in this case hand woven…even better!
Together we will explore different locally available (some seasonal) plants and let our hands tell us more about them. Don’t know how to make cordage, no problem…we’ll learn together. And you’ll get a great start on your very own cordage collection (image 1) - making petite samples of each plant/cordage (image 2). Curious about the wrapped bottle & rock (images 3 & 4)…check out a Knotless Netting Skills Workshop!
What we’ll play with…
Daylily
Crocosmia
Iris
Dandelion
Daffodil
Juncus
and more…
Our time together will offer lots of show and tell of other fun ways to use more cordage in your life. Trust me you’re going to want to use it everywhere - it’s addictive, meditative, and just plan fun to make.
