WINTERFEST: Bulrush Hearts

  • Field and Forest Crafts Classroom 1608 Northeast 179th Street Shoreline, Washington, 98155 United States (map)

This December when the days are dark and the nights are long, come celebrate the season and decorate with bulrush hearts. This workshop is inspired by traditional Swedish straw weaving but on a larger scale and using locally and sustainably harvested bulrush.

During the workshop you will learn about bulrush as a wonderful weaving material and explore how strong yet flexible it can be in weaving. Each student will have the opportunity to make several hearts and choose their favorite style(s) and color(s). No plastics or glues - 100% biodegradable.

Minimum Age: 8 years old with accompanying paid adult

Class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if you want to sell or give your spot to a friend, I’m happy to welcome someone else in your place. Due to the nature of the projects (materials/soaking, etc) and the small class sizes, I’m unable to support refunds or credits.
