So You Want to Weave a Willow Basket

The first time I wove with willow, I fell in love.

Within 4 months of weaving my first willow basket, I planted my own willow. I now have 1,200 trees and counting!

I’m hooked.

I want to share what I’ve learned so far on my willow weaving journey and hopefully open the door for you too. For what I lack in years of weaving experience, I make up for in enthusiasm and eagerness to invite others into weaving. During my presentation, I want to explore 3 key topics about working with willow

1) Where can I get willow?

2) How can I learn to weave with willow?

3) What tools do I need?

About your presenter:

Erin Cox, of Field and Forest Crafts, has been growing her own basketry willow since 2024 (learn about the farm) and started weaving with wild willow in 2023. Her willow journey has taken her all over Washington, through Oregon, to Idaho, and North Carolina to learn about willow. She has had the opportunity to learn from many well-respected and highly-skilled willow basketry teachers and started teaching willow basketry workshops in the Fall of 2025.

Seating is first come, first serve.

FEBRUARY IN THE GREENHOUSE: The Sky Nursery Greenhouse is typically 10-15 degrees warmer than the outside temperature. Plan accordingly - wear layers, perhaps a cushion to sit on, or buy a toasty beverage at the Cafe.

Please use the RSVP form below. This is a FREE event but RSVPing helps us know how many guests to expect.
