When I wear my willow bark bracelet it reminds me that I can be like the willow - flexible, grounded, full of vigor, and resilience. I can withstand the storm or flood and bounce back - my roots are strong and I can resist!
Willow is an incredible plant offering medicine in its bark (used by humans for more than 3500 years!), habitat for birds in its swaying branches, stability for river and stream banks with its dense roots and so much more.
In this workshop, we’ll explore how and when to harvest willow bark. A versatile weaving material that can be used make baskets, hats, jewelry, art, and more. Additional bracelet kits will be available for purchase.
Minimum age: 14
All tools and materials will be provided.
Teacher: Ashli Tyre is a textile artist living in Issaquah, WA.
"My hands lead the way- slow, deliberate, grounded. I weave with wool, leaf and bark in their natural forms, each piece carrying the marks of the land and the hands that made it."
Workshop registration is NON-REFUNDABLE. However, if you want to sell or give your spot to a friend, we’re happy to welcome someone else in your place.
